Karyn Howarth will re-join the Melbourne Vixens next season after signing a two year contract today.
Howarth said she is ‘looking forward to representing Victoria and the Vixens for another two years.’
“Today is certainly a very exciting moment for me. I
thoroughly enjoyed my first season with the club
who have given me so many opportunities in the last 12 months. I look forward
to continuing to grow
as an athlete and Vixens team member,” Howarth said.
Howarth played her first ANZ Championships season with the Vixens this year, gaining significant court time and a spot in the starting Grand Final line up. Howarth was also a first time selection for the Australian Netball Diamonds camp in Canberra this month, however missed out on a spot in the final team.
Netball Victoria Acting Chief Executive Officer, Russell James said he is delighted that Howarth will remain with the Vixens after a successful season with the club.
“Karyn has established herself as an important part of the team and has shown tremendous development and growth as a player in her first ANZ Champs season. She brings a great deal of skill and potential to the team,” James said.
Howarth joins team mates Bianca Chatfield, Geva Mentor, Tegan Caldwell and Micaela Wilson who will fulfil existing contracts with the Vixens next season.
