Vixens sign healthy deal with Genesis
The Melbourne Vixens have announced the signing of a new two year deal with Genesis Fitness, taking their partnership all the way to the end of 2011.
The 2009 ANZ Championship winning Vixens, including Australian Diamonds representatives Sharelle McMahon, Bianca Chatfield, Julie Corletto, Caitlin Thwaites and Renae Hallinan, are considered one of the fittest teams in the league, and have been supported by Genesis since 2008.
Corletto, a defender renowned for her amazing athleticism, credits Genesis with keeping her fit and prepared for netball at the highest level.
“One of the hardest things for us is staying in a routine during the off season. It’s tricky to stay at our fittest over Christmas, but my Genesis membership makes this much easier for me.
“Recovering from a recent operation on both knees, it’s also been extremely important for me to keep myself busy and active during this down time, but Genesis provides so many options that I haven’t had a problem at all staying as fit as possible until I can resume full training.
“It also helps that my local Genesis is just around the corner from home!”
With many of the Vixens taking the opportunity to go jetsetting around the world after their successful Championship season, the convenience of so many Genesis outlets around Melbourne has made their travel recovery and preparation for 2010 just that little bit easier, saving the busy players from having to commute into the city every day for weights sessions.
Genesis Fitness has a strong association with netball in Victoria, also teaming up with VNL Grand Finalists Boroondara Genesis.
